MS PAINT The Harvester of Souls - Version 3 by MadManny510 MS PAINT The Harvester of Souls - Version 3 by MadManny510
Used MS Paint 2007. 2 colors (black and white)
Tools: Spray tool'd in the legs and scythe, then used the line tool to sharpen the look.
Copyright Emmanuel Hall 2013
The original file is over 18000 pixels wide and cannot be uploaded at that size. All you get is a reduced quality sample. :p

This is the Version 3 of the Harvester of Souls. At this point I extended the legs in full and added a scythe that appears on a playmat illustration I did for card gamers.

I am aware that the background is rather lacking, and I will update it in the future.

A lot of patience, and mostly the spray tool, then used the curved line tool and brush tool for touch ups. :)

Practice practice practice! I spent a few months on this program off and on trying to develop a style, and I had realized that the tool i thought was the most useless to me was the most powerful and comfortable to me. That said, the version I use (The Vista version) is the only one I can use. There's another version just like it (XP?) and the spray tool drops so fast, and I like the slow dropping pixels of the vista version. The new one is just awful for me. My dad purchased a laptop with the Vista version, and bought a second one for me so the fact that I ended up discovering that I could use Paint was a fluke by itself. Life - it be like that sometimes. :)

and to think I'm not with it yet :)  I'm still pondering how I want to redo the background and I am also considering redoing the legs.  Also considering wings. :D (Big Grin)

I personally think it's great as it is but I see it was submitted in 2013 and it would be interesting to see how much greater your art work has become if you did decide to redo this. Either way it's still amazing!

Yeah i just have so many other things i have to work on, commissions for people and what-not, and I will admit I have been...slacking on my efforts to get back into working on this.  MS Paint is tremendously tedious some times, its hard for me to commit real time to it, but thank you!

lol idk if i consider myself a master, but i do feel confidant in saying artists don't give ms paint the respect it deserves.  Sure programs like Photoshop just shit on other things - I use that too lol but sometimes ppl forget that even the simplest of things can also create some awesome shit - This is my proof to that statement.  Enjoy.

Amazing pixel art, one of the best made with Ms Paint I ever seen... And I know what I'm talking about as I also use this basic software to try to challenge myself.
You might have a look to my gallery...if you got time.
Cheers MadManny.

It's like the caveman who figured out that grounded flowers make ink for cave paintings. The tool itself sucks balls but the longer you do things the better shit gets.

Here's the caveman's MS PAINT:

I can proudly say, that this is the BEST paint picture I have ever seen. Ever. And I doubt I will ever see a beauty like this in the future. Not only the details are fantastic, but the dark topic as well.
Insta fav'ed and linked to friends - I simply MUST share this masterpiece.
This picture actually had made me very happy. I am a metalhead myself, and to see, how someone so carefully crafted this monstrous deathbringer, such a delight to eyes, makes me feel so warm inside. Seriously, all these details... I simply can't stop staring at this.
Congratulations on creating your Magnum Opus and getting a DD! SO deserved!

This artistry is just worldly amazing. The image of the harvester seems to slightly hold a combination of cultures within his depiction. The scythe is the obvious Grim Reaper connection. Though this harvester houses a more battle-prone scythe. The wider blade with the teeth looks more set for tougher battle usage. Possibly something keen towards Viking use. The armor for the harvester holds a strong connection towards samurai armor. Crossed with Knightly attire. The Demon/Evil Spirit mask holds a strong influence towards Eastern Asian cultures, as well as some ancient European connections. Though the stylings connect stronger to the E.A. portion. The spirits in the background with the highlighted eyes shows either the souls he harvested and/or those willing/forced to do it's biddings. If there was color applied, it might have either added a deeper element or stole away a dynamic part out of the image. The black & white gives the viewer's imagination to concoct the colors in play for this scene. Dynamic work, my friend. Sorry for being "long winded" with the typing.

Fav'd, as you should know. Congrats on your DD.

Thanks! I'm still deciding if I want a more epic background. If you check out the playmat version I did you'll see a buttload of zombies, I was thinking something like that nature if I ever decide to actually change the background. The decision is still looking 50/50 right now.
