Process:

Most people use paints and extend art by covering ink on the card.  My process is different.  I erase the ink from the card until it is blank white.  I use scotch tape to cover areas I don't want erased - basically I leave the title box, and if it's a creature I leave the power/toughness box.  I do this because I want my own art on the card, not compliment someone else's cards.  The eraser I use is a Staedtler white plastic eraser.  I sign them on the back of the card.
